As a Mom of two busy girls, I know how hard it can be to get healthy meals on the table and in the lunchbox. This website is all about sharing convenient make ahead recipes that support a clean eating lifestyle. Here’s a little more about me and my reasons for this blog:
My Food Philosophy…
A few years ago, my eyes were opened to the generation of processed food that my kids were growing up in. We were a home like so many others with a pantry full of Frosted Flakes, Goldfish Crackers, and Kraft Mac & Cheese. Convenience foods like Go-Gurt, granola bars, and frozen waffles were mainstays in our diet. I had always considered myself someone who was concerned with eating healthy, but a hard look at our daily life revealed a totally different story.
I decided I didn’t want my kids growing up thinking that good nutrition came from a bag or box. I began analyzing labels and looking for ways to minimize the amount of processed food in our diets as much as possible. I eliminated boxed cereal, got creative with homemade baked goods, and cut way back on eating out. I made weekly meal plans and skipped the snack aisles at the grocery store. It wasn’t easy and it took many months of introducing and reintroducing new foods, but my family slowly embraced a whole food, clean eating lifestyle.
Throughout this process, I found a secret weapon that worked for that convenience factor I loved. Packing healthy lunches and preparing quick, family friendly dinners suddenly became doable! Want to know how I did it??
Meal Prep. Yep. Every Sunday, I spent an hour or two preparing ingredients and meals for the week ahead. Things that my husband and kids could grab and go. Breakfasts that didn’t come out of a box but were just as convenient. Nutritious lunches that required no work to make. Meal components that were easy to throw together in a pinch. With a little time each week devoted to Meal Prep, sticking to a plan of eating real food became easy.
Don’t get me wrong, life is meant to be lived, so treats and indulgences are and always will be enjoyed – they just make up a much smaller percentage these days! As a family, we try to live by the 80/20 rule.

This website was born out of my love and belief in the power of Meal Prep! You’ll find plenty of make ahead recipes, including grab-and-go breakfasts, lunches, and snacks, and simple fuss-free dinners. I’m also a big fan of Slow Cooker and Instant Pot recipe because they are major time savers as well! Ultimately, it’s important to me that everything I make be convenient, family friendly, and full of nutrition. I hope you find some inspiration too and get meal prepping!
